My story “That Old Black Magic” won FIRST PLACE in the How-To division of the National Association of Mature Publishers Association awards in 2008. That was good, and what made it better is the judges were from the Missouri School of Journalism! This is what they said: This was a fun story to read. The author offers great information for couples looking to put the spark back into their sex lives. The story is informative, yet entertaining. Thank you!
The story appeared in Southern California Life After 50, and this is what the judges said about it:
This magazine is the epitome of California cool–and it connects with its audience well with a diverse selection of how-to stories, travel features and profiles unique to the area. A strong design, sharp writing and tight editing make this a quick, easy read. Congrats to editor Darcy!
I made the cover of Digital Photographer magazine in Spring 2009. My bio is inside the book (all online) and I’m now blogging on politics and pictures (polipics) at www.digiphotomag.com
Two of my images are in the spring issue of E&S, Caltech’s Engineering and Science magazine.
And I just completed a year as the director of communications for the Indepdendent Writers of Southern California (iwosc), an organization I’ve been a member of for many years. This year’s adventure will be the Web site redesign! Follow iwosc on facebook!
